Why Member Spaces Are Special

Because it’s a members-only space, the Lounge & Café isn’t just filled with strangers passing through—it’s a place where the faces become familiar, the conversations run deeper, and the atmosphere feels like home.  Here, we’re more than just customers—we’re family.

There are two main ways people interact in the world of goods and services: public commerce and private trade.

Public commerce is what you typically see every day—schools, hospitals, restaurants, grocery stores, and even government agencies. These places follow public rules and regulations set by federal, state, and local authorities.

Private trade, on the other hand, is more personal and familiar than you might think. It’s like when you hire a neighbor to babysit, arrange for someone to mow your lawn, or pay a friend to clean your house.

These are private agreements between individuals—built on trust and mutual understanding.  FLAG functions within that private space. That means when you become a member, you’re entering into a private agreement with us and with each other.  Our activities, workshops, farm goods, and services are shared within that private relationship, guided by our own member agreements—not outside regulations.

The relationship then becomes more personal—not business-to-customer.  And, it’s why you don’t see many places or spaces quite like ours - what we’re doing here would be much harder (if not impossible) to accomplish in the public domain.

Membership opens the gate to:

  • The Farm Lounge / Cafe – a cozy space to relax/read or meet up with others.

  • Community Gardens – grow food and learn alongside others.

  • Side By Side Farm Market – like-minded vendors united by sustainable growing methods.

  • Workshops & Classes – from traditional homesteading skills to home-school support and Bible study.

  • Special Events & Gatherings – that deepen connection and inspire living simply.

  • Additional Farm Access - enjoy peaceful walking trails on the farm and a serene picnic area—your perfect spot for quiet reflection and meditation in nature.

Open to All

While the farm setting might give the impression that it’s just for kids or families, that’s not the case at all. FLAG is a space for everyone—individuals, couples, young adults, retirees, and anyone looking for connection, purpose, and hands-on living surrounded by a supportive community. No matter your season of life, you’re welcome here.

At the heart of FLAG is a foundation rooted in basic Christian tenets - we are not affiliated with any cultic practices or ideologies—our focus is simply on loving God, caring for the land, and loving one another. You don’t need to be a Christian to join us; everyone is welcome. Our space is built on respect, kindness, and living with purpose, and we invite everyone to be part of this community.

How It Works

FLAG is 100% member-supported, meaning there are no big sponsors or outside strings attached.

Simply come to the farm to fill out a membership form and pay the membership fee

(you may also apply by filling out the form below (we will ask for a signed membership application during your first in-person visit)).

There is a small fee to join but it makes a powerful statement—it formalizes your commitment to FLAG and confirms that you intentionally applied to join which unlocks full access to every benefit, resource, and opportunity FLAG has to provide.

Not ready to join or just visiting the area?

No problem - it’s a no-pressure, no-gimmicks environment. Just people helping people, side by side.

We love meeting new faces and sharing what we’re about.

We offer day passes for $2 - come as a visitor and/or accompanied by a Member.

Membership Fee:
$5 per individual/nuclear family (max. 4 persons + $1 ea. additional), for one year.

Other Fees:
We don’t have any other monetary requirements outside of your membership fee.  Our café and events are offered through a pay-what-it’s-worth model - this means you pay what you feel the food and experience are worth to you.

Whether you contribute a little or a lot, every bit helps sustain the space, support our employees, and keep things running smoothly.  We trust in God’s provision and deeply appreciate every contribution—big or small.  That said, no one is ever turned away no matter their ability to give – everyone is welcome to share a beverage or a meal when offered in the Café.  At FLAG, we’re cultivating a community rooted in generosity, grace, and genuine connection.

Note: Every penny you contribute stays with FLAG - the farm hosting FLAG and any sub-vendors who sell products in the farm store cover their costs independently.
